My brother-in-law, Jerry, spent a year planning a family reunion. He began by sending letters giving us information about the event. The last words asked us to RSVP quickly. I am sure many families began looking at the calendar with anticipation and the expectation of replying affirmatively as soon as possible.
The best invitation in the world is the one given by Christ as He reaches out His nail-scarred hands and says, "Come!" Through His Church He repeats the invitation, "Come!" When we have given our RSVP to His invitation, He desires that we would invite others to come.
The invitation given by Christ is one meant to be shared. It is not exclusive, but rather, inclusive. His invitation comes with no dress code. He bids us come just as we are.
Lord, help me encourage others to heed Christ's Invitation.
