Committing to life

God gives life glory
Psalm 8:1-9

Jeremiah 11-12 : PM - Philippians 1

For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor
(Psalm 8:9).

At the end of the Little League World Series, a television news reporter was interviewing coaches and players. One young man, who had hit a home run, was asked if he thought his contribution had been an important factor in winning the ball game. He responded, "Sure, I hit a home run, but you know it takes the whole team working together to win a ball game."

Obviously, either his parents or a coach had instilled true values and principles that led him to think this way. He refused to take all the credit for the success of the team.

As we serve the Lord in our daily walk, are our actions self-motivated or implemented for God's glory? Today's devotional passage tells us God has crowned us with glory and honor. This glory and honor will be evident to others who cross our paths in life only as we give unselfishly of ourselves and allow God's glory to shine through us.

Father, I pray that my life will always glorify You.
