Promising a Righteous Ruler

The Promise Fulfilled
Romans 1:1-4

Read the Bible through:
AM - Jeremiah 51 : PM - 2 Timothy 1

Concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh (Rom. 1:3).

Paul wished to go to Rome. Because various events had prevented his going there for sometime, he wrote a letter to the Roman Christians.

In this portion of his letter, Paul stated Jesus was the fulfillment of God's promise to David that His seed would come in God's timing and would establish David's throne forever. He also spoke of Christ's resurrection and His calling of him (Paul) to the service of spreading the gospel.

So we have a great servant of the Lord in New Testament times assuring Christians that according to Christ's human nature He was a descendant of David. The prophecies of the Old Testament had come to pass. Paul also wished to share his experiences with the living Lord with the Roman Christians.
