Promising a Righteous Ruler

To all generations
Psalm 89:1-4

Read the Bible through:
AM -
Jeremiah 49 : PM - 1 Timothy 5

I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn to My servant David: 'Your seed I will establish forever, And build up your throne to all generations.'" Selah
(Psalm 89:3-4).

The psalmist said in this passage that God promised David his seed would strengthen his throne for all generations. God says this over and over in His Word. We can place our total confidence in His promises.

God had shown His faithfulness to the Hebrew people in many ways. Therefore, they believed He would be faithful to keep the promise about the establishment of David's throne forever, to all generations.

Have you seen those accordion-type postcards that can be examined one postcard at a time? After the examination of each card, the cards can be folded into a complete package. The bible is somewhat like that in the way it reveals God's faithfulness in keeping one promise and then another. When we have finished reading the Bible, we have a piece-by piece revelation about the coming Savior, a descendant of David

Father, thank You for keeping Your promise to send a Savior for all people.
