Promising a Righteous Ruler

God's promises
2 Samuel 7:10-16

Read the Bible through:
AM -
Jeremiah 48 : PM - 1 Timothy 4

"And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever"
(2 Samuel 7:16).

While God did not allow David to build a house of worship, He did say an offspring would be the builder. In addition, He said David's kingdom and throne would be established forever.

Many years went by before the birth of Jesus Christ who was of David's lineage, but this was a big part of the fulfillment of God's promise to David,

Our God keeps His promises. Are you a promise keeper? If we make a promise to a child or an adult, we need to bring that promise to completed action.

In World War II when the war in the Philippines went badly and General Douglas MacArthur had to leave the islands, he told the Philippine people "I shall return!" After years of war, on October 20, 1944, General MacArthur set foot on Philippine soil once again.

God's promises are infinitely greater than MacArthur's.

Father, help me to appreciate your promises.
