Creating a Distinctive People

Holiness Required
Exodus 19:6-8

Read the Bible through:
AM -
Jeremiah 333-34 : PM - 1 Thessalonians 5

And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel
(Exodus 19:6).

Teenagers think it's dangerous to stand out from the crowd, to be different, or "special." And with the few exceptions of those who truly are gifted, most teens I've known strive to take the safe path, to find their places and identities in the often soul-damaging security of the crowd.

As one of God's children, the most dangerous thing is to be part of the crowd, identified with the world instead of His agenda. It's not that God is seeking pompous, power-hungry dictators. God is seeking those who are holy, separate, apart from the world through their conscious, decisive choices to be in the best possible position to serve Him.

Consider your position as a servant of God. Are your daily battles concerned with choosing God's way versus compromise, or have you settled that argument once and for all?

Dear Lord, shine Your pure light on my life today that I can see and change the dark corners of my compromise.
