Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this (Isa. 9:7).
In the past you may have memorized this beautiful segment from Isaiah's prophecy that is part of a larger statement about the coming of the Prince of peace.
Isaiah had predicted the fall of Israel, but he also told those people that one day the Redeemer would come from their group, that he would be a descendant of David, and he foretold the eternal nature of His throne.
The hymn "One Day" speaks of Christ's virgin birth, His bearing our sins on the cross, His death and resurrection, His ascension, and then the day when the trumpet will announce His coming again. "One day He's coming - O glorious day!"
Father, I have had the privilege of knowing about Your love for humankind. Help me feel an urgency to tell others about the coming of the Prince of peace.
