Salvation Begins a Life of Obedience

Crucified with Christ
Romans 6:5-6

Read the Bible through:
AM –
Ezekiel 40-41 : PM – James 5

Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin (
Rom. 6:6).

My wife spent six years in preparation to teach secondary music. She learned methods of teaching, arranging of music, psychology, and trends in order to most effectively teach in a classroom setting.

As she progressed in her education, she focused less on general knowledge and more on the advanced skills of a musician. As she learned more about music, she became a better musician. She could never go back to the lesser knowledge she once displayed and operate in the same manner.

The same is true in our spiritual walk. As we draw closer to Jesus, we become more like Him. We, as Christians, can no longer tolerate our former attitudes or habits. Because we are “crucified with him,” we, as Christians, can no longer tolerate our former attitudes or habits. Because we are “crucified with him,” we can never go back to the lesser knowledge we displayed before we became Christians. .

Oh, Lord, I have been crucified with You. Thank You for freeing me from the bondage of sin.
