Salvation Means New Life
Joy

The parting remark of a former early-morning television show host was “Make it a good day” rather than “Have a good day.”
A good day results from joy in the heart and soul, not from superficial, external happiness. The psalmist wrote “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” Psalm 30:5).
No one escapes disappointments, injuries or losses. But a Christian can weather the storms victoriously because with salvation comes a new life where abides deep-seated joy, even during trying times.
The recent loss of her spouse due to illness left a friend sad and lonely. She explained that through this trial she also felt joy in her heart just thinking of her husband’s life with God in heaven, free of suffering. This friend made it a good day by recalling the blessing of belonging to Christ and rejoicing “with joy unspeakable and full of glory” (1 Pet 1:8)
Lord, thank You for the joy I have in knowing You.
