Salvation Means New Life

Hope
Romans 5:3-4

Read the Bible through:
AM –
Ezekiel 25-26 : PM – Hebrews 11

And perseverance, character; and character, hope (Rom. 5:4).

They sat in the shady city park listening to the U.S. Army Fourth Infantry Division Band. The audience was drinking in the patriotic music. They had just heard on the television news, “The United States has struck strategic military sites in Afghanistan.”

Most had brought lawn chairs, some quilts, while others found park benches or swings; but all sat in unified appreciation of the soldier band.

Sitting in front of us were a woman and her World War II veteran father. Filled with emotion she reached across and took his hand for just a moment. A gentle squeeze said: “I love you. It’s going to be OK.”

Yes, it’s going to be OK for those who have their hope in Jesus Christ. A Christian’s hope is much more than wishful thinking. The believers’ hope is the knowledge that God holds the future in His hands, right where we are nestled.

Father, thank You for the hope we have in Jesus.
