Salvation Begins a Life of Obedience

In Newness of Life
Romans 6:3-4

Read the Bible through:
AM –
Ezekiel 38-39 : PM – James 4

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life
(Rom. 6:4).

Couples, who take marriage vows, agree to love one another and cling to each other for life. That couple is now considered to be one person.

Now, that they are married, they grocery shop differently, watch different television programs, and adjust to a completely altered sleeping schedule. They must focus on what’s best for the couple rather than be obsessed by their on personal agenda. That is a complete thought process change.

The same is true when we become Christians. Our appetite for God’s word increases, and we become less concerned with self and more interested in other’s needs. Our old lives are ‘buried with him…into death.” As those old desires leave us, we become more like Jesus as we “walk in newness of life.”

Father, thank you for newness of life in Christ.
