TEACHING To observe
Deuteronomy 6:20-25

25 "Then it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to observe all these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us.”

Counting all the laws that have been enacted since our country was founded – those in our nation’s capitol, all the states’ capitols, from the largest cities to the smallest townships – the number must be in the millions! Yet, every year, more new laws are made.

Whereas God said, “Thou shalt not kill,” have we really needed so many laws regarding the reason for murder? For the types of slaying? For the kinds of guns used in killing. For the “extenuating circumstances” at the time of the act? When God told us not to steal, did He have to say, “Do not steal a pencil, a watch, a million dollars in embezzlement?” Did He mean there is a degree as to the seriousness of theft or any other crime?

Let us teach in our homes God’s written laws. Let us teach by example the observation of God’s laws. And let us teach that “it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God.

Lord help me to always observe Your commandments.
