Making a Commitment

Read the Bible through:
AM –
Jeremiah 3-4 : PM – Ephesians 3
Becasue God is Faithful

5 Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds

My favorite Bible character is Caleb, who said the children of Israel could take the Promised Land when Moses sent the spies to inspect it. Caleb was a positive thinker who could see past the impossible because he knew God was faithful. But the rest of the spies said no and outnumbered him, so he had to postpone his dream.

Caleb entered the Promised Land 45 years later as strong as he had been when he was age 40. He asked Joshua to give him a mountain, and at age 85 declared the victory he knew God had given him so long ago.

God was faithful to Caleb even though his dream was postponed for two generations. When the time came to claim a long-ago promise, Caleb was ready; and his victory was complete.

In God’s day planner, time is irrelevant. Our dreams may be deferred to a later date; but if they are God’s will, He will execute them in His perfect time.

Lord, because of Your great faithfulness, I will be faithful to the dreams You give me.
