The Good News: The Family’s Message

Read the Bible through:
AM –
Jeremiah 46-47 : PM – 1 Timothy 3

God’s Message Needed
Acts 10:1-8

6
“He is lodging with Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea. He will tell you what you must do.”

Cornelius’s reputation is one of a devout and good man. He feared God and gave alms generously to people in need. He and all the members in his house prayed to the one true God. They did not follow idols or foreign gods.

God heard Cornelius’s prayers and began preparing Peter to come and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to him and his Gentile family. God blessed his family with truth.

As individual, we are also a part of the larger family of God. We are responsible to teach the word to those who live under our roofs. Also, we are to share with those outside of our homes – in the workplace, at school, at the ball park, and as we travel.

Being good and doing good works are not enough to bring salvation into our lives. Cornelius and his family needed to hear God’s provision of salvation through Jesus. Just as Peter did we too need to recognize the need for others to hear God’s message.

Thank You, Lord, for using my prayers and gifts to enhance the lives of others.
