In Modeling Christian Leadership
Titus 1:5-9

6 “
If a man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of dissipation or insubordination.”

Our key verse emphasizes the early church selected as it leaders those who had shown Christian dedication in their homes and communities. Of course, none of Paul’s readers, then or now, could claim to be literally blameless. Yet always the church’s leader s have needed to show that living and witnessing for Christ is the dominant purpose of their lives.

Christian parents and their believing children are powerful and priceless gospel assets. From them comes the promise of vital and effective church leadership for the generations to come.

The wise church chooses only such leaders as those Paul described. Qualified leaders will strive to keep on modeling the Christian life so others may follow their example. All concerned members will constantly pray that leaders will live up to Paul’s challenge and Jesus’ expectations.

Lord, please help me to model the Christian life as I should today at home and in public places.
