Jimmy's father was a small town physician. People could not simply walk into his examining room. They first had to check in with the nurse and wait their turn, but not Jimmy. Every time he walked in, he was always "next in line." The doc was his dad, and he had a standing invitation to come and see him.
Our Maker has given us a standing invitation to worship Him and to talk with Him. One of the most amazing truths of Scripture is that God wants to have a personal relationship with each of us.
Why would the Lord want personal relationships with us frail, faulty, fumbling, and stumbling folk? He is our Maker, and He wants to be our Heavenly Father. He made that possible by sending Jesus to atone for our sins. To receive Jesus by faith brings us into a personal relationship with God as our Father.
Lord, thank you for giving me an open door to you through Jesus Christ. Please remind me to use it often.
