Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth" (Gen. 1:28).
God endowed humankind with personality and a sense of morality, enabling them to know right from wrong. Only humans have the capacity to relate and respond to God. God commanded the man and woman to multiply and oversee other living things.
A young couple in our church were distressed by the news that they might never have a child. After a year of praying and working with their doctor, they were thrilled when God saw fit to bless them with their first child. Three years later they were blessed with another child. God has blessed them with the responsibility of loving and nurturing, and disciplining their children. They give unconditional love and expect obedience.
Lord, I thank You for Christian parents in our church; may they seek Your help in nurturing their children.
