Sin: What Went Wrong?

Suffering the consequences
Genesis 3:14-19

Read the Bible through:
AM -
Psalm 119:89-176 : PM - Romans 9

Then to Adam He said, "Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it': "Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life"
(Gen. 3:17).

On September 15, 1991, 23 year old Jason Barber took his 15 year-old-brother, Aaron, out for some fun that included drinking and driving. A friend challenged him to a truck race. After drinking several beers, Jason raced at speeds near 90 miles per hour, his brother beside him in his truck. The "fun" ended when Jason lost control of his truck and rolled over, ejecting his brother in the process. Jason found his kid brother dead.

Pleading guilty to vehicular manslaughter, Jason went to prison. Upon release, he trained to become an alcohol and drug counselor. Now Jason routinely speaks to church and school groups about the consequences of wrong choices.

Lord, remind me that sin causes suffering
