Are you one of those people who enjoy studying your family genealogy? Or maybe there is someone else in your family who is tracing the family tree? This is a popular activity. With today's computer access to the Internet, people can easily research genealogy records. Lots of people are interested in finding out more about their ancestors, no matter whether they might be members of royalty or thieves.

An important thing to remember when it comes to families is that God created them. Even if we can trace our family line back through the generations, we must never forget that from the very beginning of time, families were a part of God's plan for our lives.

Today's Scripture passage from Genesis reminds us that the family was not created by chance or accident. And the family doesn't exist simply because of cultural traditions. The family was created by God so let's give our families the love and attention they deserve.

God, thank You for placing me in the family I am in.
