2 "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
Someone once gave me a book entitled God’s Big Little Words. The theme of the book is that the most important words in the Bible are the short words. The book dealt with five of these: life, love, hope, joy, and peace. Each of these is found numerous times in the Bible, and each represents something all people seek.
Everyone is interested in life and in living. The world’s definition of the good life differs from the Bible definition. In the Bible the word “life” clusters around Jesus Christ and His Spirit. It is the real life, abundant life, and eternal life. The Bible warns that what many people consider to be the way to life is actually the way to death. This is “the law of sin and death.”
The good news is that “the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus” has liberated us from this deadly cycle of sin.
Lord, I praise You for freeing me from the way of sin and death and into the way of life.
