Establishing Godly Standards for My Family

Faithfulness
Jeremiah 35:18-19

18 "
And Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: 'Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts and done according to all that he commanded you , 19 therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: "Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not lack a man to stand before Me forever."'”

Did it ever occur to even on Rechabite to question commitment to faithfulness? If the Rechabites were human – and they were – quite possibly some did question. They weren’t perfect; they were just committed to obedience regardless. If they did question, their questions perhaps emerged from hearts of faith like Mary, who simply believed what was happening was for good and not harm and remained faithful regardless.

The Rechabites were similarly committed. And God promised to bless them, too. Their descendants would always have one to stand before God.

Lord, thank You for whatever You allow You have already provided what I need to remain faithful
