Growing Disciples

Read the Bible through:
AM –
1 Chronicles 5-6 : PM – John 4:43-54

Who Forgive
Ephesians 4:29-32

32
“And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.”

Ron is a truck driver who spends his days loading and unloading goods as he delivers cargo to restaurants along his route.

This physically strong, muscular man has a tender, compassionate heart that extends kindness to others because he has personally experienced God’s love and forgiveness. When he prays a prayer of thanksgiving in a worship service, he may weep with the realization of God’s marvelous grace. Like most people, Ron has been deeply hurt by actions of others; yet he is able to forgive because he tries to imitate Christ in his walk with God.

God expects believers to live up to their new natures, practicing the virtues noted in Ephesians 4:32. Sin grieves the Holy Spirit, but wallowing in God’s love will enable us to emulate Him in loving and forgiving those who sin against us.

Father, help me to forgive others even as You have forgiven me.
