SERVING ONE GOD
Ephesians 4:6

6 “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

The crowning truth that attaches to Christian oneness is the nature of God Himself, who is the Father of all who are His children by faith in Christ. The one God is transcendent. He also is present with and pervasive through His creation. God also dwells within all believers. The church is a fellowship of believers in the service of the one true God.

A factory that manufactures cars employs a variety of skilled workers. All along the assembly line workers perform different tasks. However, the tasks are not randomly done. All the workers fit into a pre-designed process for producing a particular kind of vehicle. In a sense, everyone works in the service of the end product.

Local congregations are different, just as individual Christians are different. We do not all do exactly the same tasks or do church work the same way, but we do all serve the same God.

Dear God, help me be a team player at my church while appreciating the contributions that everyone else makes in God’s service.
