Ministering to Needs

Read the Bible through:

With Prayer
James 5:16-18

16 “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

Some Christians seem to have a direct line to God when it comes to quickly answered prayers. The truth is, while their prayers may appear to be answered effortlessly, they spend hours each day in communication with God. They are true prayer warriors and righteous men and women.

Today’s verses hold the secret to this direct connect to God. Miss Bertha Smith, a long time missionary to China, knew this secret to be the confession of sins. Confession of sins leads to righteous living. Miss Bertha believed in being prayed up and confessed up. She taught hundreds of Christians how to confess sins and to pray fervently. Praying fervently means praying specifically and faithfully until an answer is received – maybe not the one we are looking for, but God’s answer.

Thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayers.
