HELPING THE SINNER
James 5:19-20

20 “Let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.”

David was a great king. Had it not been for a man willing to intercede in David's life under God's direction, David would not have had the opportunity to continue serving. Even though God had already made a covenant with David, he committed sins that still shock us today. David did not seem to realize he had strayed from God's will for his life. God sent Nathan to wake David up spiritually. When David's eyes were opened, he was grieved and asked forgiveness. God forgave David. David dealt with the earthly consequences of his sins. Through this he was able to write beautiful psalms that have touched the lives of so many.

In today's verses, James reminded Christians of the good results of repentance of sin. When we turn from our wickedness and God's forgiveness is evidenced, God's love and grace are witnessed by the world.

Lord, when I stray please send someone to lead me back to You.
