Praying That Focuses on God

Read the Bible through:
AM –
Deut. 21-23 : PM – Mark 10.17-31

His Forgiveness
Psalm 130:1-5

4 "But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared”

Elizabeth, a makeup director for a nationally-syndicated TV show, had worked 23 year with another makeup artist we’ll call Sally. She watched Sally go from a vibrant, productive makeup artist to a woman struggling with alcoholism, barely able to do her work. Resentment grew as Elizabeth did double the work to cover for Sally. When the show was canceled, Elizabeth found herself out of work. On her knees asking God for help in what to do, the answer she heard seemed to have little to do with finding work. But she did what she heard God say and within a few days received a call for a three-week job, and jobs have been constant since that day. God’s answer? “Ask for forgiveness for the resentment you felt toward Sally all those years. Create in you a clean heart, Elizabeth.”

Jesus Christ provided forgiveness for those who had sinned, even those who persecuted Him, May we have a similar forgiving spirit.

Father, teach me to forgive as You have forgiven me.
