The Promise of Life’s Value

Read the Bible through:
AM –
Exodus 1-2 PM – Matthew 12:22-50

Because Jesus Loved Children
Mark 10:13-16

And He took them up in His arms, put His hands upon them, and blessed them (
Mark 10:16).

I am sure the disciples thought they were doing Jesus a favor. But when Jesus saw them sending the children away, He stopped them. Because Jesus loved children, He took time to meet their needs and to fellowship with them. The children went away with a special blessing. Jesus said people are to receive the kingdom of God as a little child. It is not an accident we were not born with the full knowledge of speech, or the ability to walk. It is not because God could not give us these abilities at birth, but rather because He chose not to. Perhaps it’s because He knew we would need to learn the basic concept of dependency and trust.

A baby’s cry is his voice no matter what language or culture in which the baby is born. A baby has to depend on someone else to feed him when he is hungry or thirsty. In the same way we are to depend on Jesus to satisfy our spiritual hunger and thirst.

Thank You, Lord, for teaching me to depend on You.
