6 “If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth”
As dwellings go these days, our house is modest; but it’s ours and we enjoy it. It is filled with mementos –lamps, figurines, paintings, and plaques – all with stories. Most of them call to mind a church, a revival, a conference where we’ve been uniquely blessed to serve. They’re just things; but they whisper of love, joys, sorrows, pleasures of gracious fellowship with the Lord and His sweet followers who have loved Him during our 40 years of ministry.
Such is the sweet cleansing fellowship people have who walk in the light with Him and one another. Many of the new praise choruses we sing today bless my life. I like them. But I like the old songs, too. One of them we don’t sing much anymore speaks of today’s theme. “How beautiful to walk in the step of the Savior, Stepping in the light, Stepping in the light, How beautiful to walk in the steps of the Savior, Led in paths of light.”
Lord, thank you for the sweet fellowship of Your presence and of Your people this day and every day.
