Bread That Satisfies
Isaiah 55:2-3
2 “Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance”
“I cannot leave until I get back my most favorite possession.” Being considerate, the usher handed the lady his Bible to use during the morning worship service. During the service, he paced back and forth. Fortunately he was in the foyer! When the last amen was said, he raced to where the lady was sitting, thanked her for coming, and took back his Bible. His notes, multiple prayer requests, and personal mementoes. It helped him follow Jesus, the Bread of Life.
We should focus on that which satisfies. Have you ever bought an item you were dissatisfied with? Did you wish you had not made that purchase? Did you wish to return it? Isaiah called believers to eat that “which is good.” That which God provides is good; it satisfies – never needing to be returned.
Lord, nothing satisfies my soul like You.
