I have heard of many who have had near-death experiences. As their hearts stopped beating, their spirits would rise from their bodies, leaving them behind. Rapidly advancing through a dark tunnel, they felt mysteriously drawn to a glorious Light. These accounts may vary in detail, but none of them can tell “the rest of the story” because all of these people have been resuscitated.
The Bible tells us that “many . . . shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting to contempt (Dan. 12:2). Those who have a personal relationship with Jesus, the only way to eternal life , have great hope in the face of death. They simply transition from this world to a glorious, unending communion with God.
Your physical life will someday cease, at a moment unknown to you. Are you ready?
Father, thank You for the assurance of eternal life.
