Returning to seminary for his doctorate was truly a time of dependence upon the Lord. His pickup truck was 24-years old. As you might guess, finances were tight. One day, following school and his part-time job, he came home expecting a home-cooked meal. His wife informed him that there was little in the pantry. Would they have to borrow money from their mother or do the unthinkable: charge their groceries? Neither option seemed good.
About that time, a knock came from the front door. A dear friend was standing there with arms full of grocery bags. And there were more in her car. An endless volume of groceries. Came from her heart and home.
While our mealtimes are a source of short-term pleasure, the Bread of God gives everlasting life. The Bread of God comes from heaven. Only the Creator of the universe can offer us heavenly sustenance. This Bread of God is Jesus Himself. Only a God-sent Savior can transform a life.
