58 "This is the bread which came down from heaven--not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever."
The eight-year –old boy waits impatiently as his mother buys a loaf of French bread. When he sees the merchant wrap it in newsprint with a large picture of bread on it, a huge smile breaks out.
The boy grabs the newsprint from his mother and runs through the open-air market to a man sitting at a table. “Here’s my paper,” he says, “I am here for my prize.” The prize was a single Bible story written in own language. The evangelist keeps records on which stories are read. Each story has a study sheet. When all 14 sheets are complete, the person has the privilege of viewing the Jesus film in his own village.
Physical bread satisfies for one day at a time. Jesus is the Bread that satisfies not just day in and day out, but once and for all. The young lad would return on other days to learn other Bible stories. What a blessing it would be for this lad to be the one to bring the gospel to his village.
Lord, help me to take living Bread to my village.
