Praying that Pleases God

Read the Bible through:
AM –
Numbers 17-18 : PM – Mark 3:13-35

From an Honorable Man
1 Chronicles 4:9

9
“Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, ‘Because I bore him in pain.’"

Opening email brings surprises. The senders’ addresses should reveal their identities, but some addresses are strange. Often we cannot tell who the authors are until we open the letters. That can be dangerous. It can bring us bad content or even a disabling computer virus. When we pray, our Heavenly Father knows immediately who is calling for His special attention.

Senders of email also must state the subject of their letters with their addresses. Usually the stated subject reveals a letter’s value to you. Just so, both our ways of life and our prayer subjects may determine whether our divine Addressee will be happy to “open” out petitions.

The Lord instantly knew the quality of both Jabez’ life and of his prayer. He knows all about our lives and our intents as well. Will they encourage Him to “open” our letters, too, or to just “delete” them on the spot?

Lord, please use my study of Your Word to strengthen my Christian testimony.
