The Bible: Its Testimony

Read the Bible through:
AM –
Numbers 13-14 PM – Mark 2:14-28
Through Paul
Acts 17:2-4

3
Explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, "This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ"

Personal testimonies turn the biblical story of Jesus into the best good news ever to break in our lost world. In Paul’s day spreading news became warped and hard to believe in its snaillike transmission. Opportunities to hear firsthand accounts of distant events were few. The spectacular news about Jesus sorely needed eye-witness support. Imagine the joy of hearing someone such as Paul declare with experiential power that Jesus really did come alive again to save lost people.

The Bible’s testimony needs personal corroboration. How else can we encourage faith in a risen Christ than to assert with joy and conviction He has saved us.

Our missionaries today, unmindful of the cost they pay, are giving Paul’s ancient testimony daily. Our task is to turn the story of Jesus into effective good news wherever we can tell it.

Lord, please help me seize today’s opportunities to testify to the saving power of the risen Christ
