A doctor sought to embarrass a young preacher in a crowd one Christmas eve. He loudly said he had just delivered a baby who, according to his mother, literally had no father. The doctor exclaimed: “I suppose the baby will grow up to heal the sick and raise the dead. What do you think preacher?” The young minister replied wisely: “Only Jesus, God’s Son, could do such works!”
The Gospel record of Jesus’ works compels us to believe He is Lord. Its ancient testimony can be trusted. It is still read and believed in a modern world. It transforms its readers even today. It goes on intriguing us even as we increase in age and wisdom.
The recorded works of Jesus prompt us to notice how He works in our lives today. We are amazed how people of His day rejected Him.
Lord, help me to see Jesus at work blessing my life today.
