CALLED IN ONE HOPE
Ephesians 4:4
4 “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling.”
Paul set forth three doctrinal truths in Ephesians 4:4 – one body, one spirit, and one hope. The one body is the body of Christ, the church, composed of all true believers throughout all time and in all places. The one spirit is the Holy Spirit. The same spirit indwells all Christians and binds us together in oneness. The one hope is the shared and secure outcome of our calling unto Christ .
The clanging of the large bell was almost magical. Mounted at the corner of the dining hall, it called campers to dinner. At the sound of the bell, several hundred teenagers came from every direction, some from the ball fields, the porches, the hiking paths, and the swimming pool. They shared a common destination. Drawn by the bell, they streamed toward the dining hall. At the sounding of the last trumpet, all Christians will stream into heaven, having been called in one hope.
Thank You Lord, for the home laid up for us in heaven.
