God’s Deliverance
Psalm 91:14
14 "Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name”
The psalmist concluded his prayer by expressing several ways God reveals His love. These promises are for the person who trusts God as their Refuge. In today’s verse, the Lord promised deliverance and exaltation. This good news must have brought comfort to the one who trusted in his God. A spiritual fellowship is implied when God said the psalmist knew who He was.
The young army private and his company were pinned down by enemy fire. A prayer for protection and deliverance would have been the appropriate thing to do, but the new Christian did not know how to pray. And then he began to say and sing everything he knew about God. Eventually the desert enemy retreated, and the military spent the night on a safe hill.
If you needed to be delivered from a crisis, how would you express that need to God?
Dear Lord, of mercy and love, thank You for being a God who delivers me from unknown dangers.
