Whenever my father would see a motorist in trouble, he would always stop and help change the tire, get the gas, or whatever he could do to help the person resume traveling. Those he helped would often offer to pay for his assistance; but Dad always refused, saying, “You help the next person you see in need.”
Jesus knew God’s kindness was available to everyone, regardless of their social, mental, physical, or spiritual conditions. As we become more like Jesus, we become more like the Father who shows His kindness to all people. We will show kindness without regard for what we might receive in return.
Opportunities for focusing on God’s quality of kindness are all around us each day. Pray that God will open your eyes to see those in need.
Father, use me today to help others experience Your touch of kindness.
