The news Paul shared in Macedonia seemed too good to be true. It was news that begged examination. Bereans who examined Scriptures with Paul saw his message was true. When Paul’s testimony passed their strenuous test of accuracy, they received the gospel.
Paul was different from the slick talkers of his day who won people to their theologies. Paul took learners on an exciting scriptural journey that ended at the empty tomb. Scriptures still can withstand careful academic searches and spiritual confirmation.
If we became acquainted with the scriptures of other religions, we would learn the Bible contains far superior writings. We know God’s Word can be trusted. Paul’s own examination of the Scriptures, buttressed by his experience with Christ, gave basis for his convincing testimony. It would do the same for us.
Lord, please use my study of Your Word to strengthen my Christian testimony.
