Arming for Spiritual Conflict
Ephesians 6:14-17
17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”
Our oldest daughter has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Kenya, parachuted out of an air plane, and bungee jumped over Victoria Falls in Eastern Africa. She knows that the right kind of equipment is essential.
Paul wrote about using the right kind of equipment for spiritual warfare. Some of the equipment is for defense and some is for offense. He said the “Sword of the Spirit,” the Bible, is essential for the Christian’s daily walk. Just as a mountain climber would not think of beginning a climb without their proper equipment, a Christian must be armed with God’s Word.
Father, help me to prepare for spiritual conflict by absorbing Your Word daily
