John Brown University sits on a hill overlooking Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Every winter when the hill was covered with snow, students would grab anything available and take to the slope behind the California dorm. On one snowy day one of our friends found a large inner tube. The hill was great because it was long enough to give everyone a great ride down. The walk back up was not nearly as exciting? That day I heard the guy pushing the inner tube back up the hill muttering, …”persevere!”… “persevere!”
What we do and how we walk with God in the midst of the mundane, daily activities make us who we are. Daily perseverance, faithfully spending time with God in prayer and in His Word, will take us to pinnacles of victory where walls crumble and friends lives are changed because we patiently interceded for them in prayer.
Father, teach me to be persistent in my obedience to You.
